INTIMACY

In Todays day and age, the word Intimacy is almost a lost word! When was the last time you heard the word " Intimacy " spoken? and if so, what context was it used for? I believe that the culture of Today does not reflect the true and correct ideals of Intimacy. If and when the word Intimacy is ever mentioned, naturally it's context is usually sexually related. So what is your point Mason, you might be asking me?

Before i clarify my expression of interest with this word " Intimacy " let's take a quick look at what the Webster Dictionary has to say. The word Intimacy & Intimate are both described as,

1: To share together.
2: To love Entirely
3: To Enter, Fellowship
4: Near or Close
5: Inmost, Inward, Internal; as internal impulse
6: Close friendship, Familiar
7: One to whom the thoughts of another are entrusted without reserve

Sadly as i mentioned in the paragraph prior. Intimacy thru the eye's of the world, is in most cases associated only with Sex. However, as the Websters Dictionary outlines. This is not entirely True, for even a basic friendship can carry the essence of Intimacy.

So getting back to my point of interest on this Topic. For almost 2 years, God has placed in my heart a wanting or deeper understanding of Sonship. Thus bringing about a crucial key to sonship being built on "Intimacy". I am becoming increasingly more aware of God's desires for Intimacy. Yes, that's right...God. God who created all the Heavens and the Earth and all that is in it, wants more than anything to be intimacy.

Upon reflecting on the descriptions outlined by the Webster Dictionary, it only maks sence that God desires Intimacy with his Prized Creation. Wouldn't Intimacy be a high priority or key element for anyone in the hope that it would bring you closer to understanding each other better? Deep down in each one of us, Dont we all desire or crave for Intimacy? Or is God the only one?
