I would like 2 share with u a message that i was blessed by God 2 minister too, at my local church to a small gathering of Homeless & christian people one evening. It just so happend that i had forgotton that i was a guest speaker that nite, & i had not prepared myself or any message to preach.
Without my Pastors realising, I recall him asking me how my preperation for that evening was coming along..due to that i only had 2hrs before delivering it. Oh no, i forgot & my natural reaction was one of sudden shock & then fear. My mind began to race, as i had no idea how to respond to my Pastors question. My mind was racing, then i heard coming from my mouth..." Um, Pastor! i cant do it cause i forgot & i dont feel ready prepared or confident enough etc etc..."
Then within milli seconds, the Holy Spirit began 2 stir within me as i found myself overwhelmed with a real sence of " Yes i can! "...so then with such ease & confidence i then heard myself again...but this time saying these words " Pastor, i am ready in season and out of season! " My Pastor was blessed to here my new response to his question as a slight smile gently formed upon his face.
How many times have you faced a situation where you have prayed the prayer of " Oh Lord!..I ask you to use me to glorify thy name. Bless me to be a blessing to others by sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ etc etc" Then shortly after we forget we prayed that prayer and God presents you with an oppurtunity to share or help someone that you might find difficult getting along with? like a work collegue? or a neighbour who despises christians and thinks all christians are hypocrites?.
Ok, maybe that's a bit of an exageration about the neighbour or work collegue! but the truth is that God does desire to use you. And if you not ready like i was, you can get caught out with your pants down so too speak!
I was reminded ever so gently by the Holy Spirit that when God told me in his scriptures that " I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STENGHTENS ME! " He really meant it...and to prove that he meant it, he even had someone to write it down those many years ago in a book called the Bible,so that i would not forget it. How cool is that!
Wow...i haven't even got to the message that i wanted to share...Ha Ha Ha. Maybe ill do it in the next post, but i really feel it's important that each of us in the Body of Christ ENCOURAGE not Condem or force one another to be more mindful of God's will and not our own will. I have found a common theme in my walk with God, and that is that God loves me for who I AM. Nothing more, and nothing less. Someone once told me that God cannot love me any more or less than he does right now.
It's when you realise this simple truth of God's exceptance of you no matter where you are at in life emotionaly, spiritually or even physically. You find that God can & still wants you to share the Gospel to your fellow man who needs his love just like we need his love, mercy & grace. God's deepest desire is to heal and restore everyone & that includes you!... then he wants to " SHOW YOU OFF " as i would say, like a proud father wants too.
